Today is Friday and apparently Friday is Taylored Expressions Card Sketch day. Seeing I am on a card kick at the moment and thoroughly enjoying the whole paper scissors glue hybrid thing I am going to play along.

Often people ask me about the name of my blog and I have been considering Altered Life Designs as a design name. So when the art journal challenge at Digiridoo Scraps was about something life altering it was the perfect opportunity to write about it.

This week because I played with a sketch by someone else I have not done a template that can be a give away. However I did not want to leave you without a gift for dropping by.

I started posting in the gallery at Split Coast Stampers back when I made my Architectural Pineapple for Kelleigh Raztlaff's blog hop.

After looking around for a while I finally spoke up and introduced myself in the forums. The welcome has been lovely and I have a great thread going where I am asking all sorts of questions about inks to try and get myself educated on all the different ones.

The bits and pieces are all stored on those nice paper style carry bags they sometimes give you in stores – all collected from our trips and sitting in the bottom of my scrap cupboard waiting to be put into albums.

This is our usual traditional Christmas Menu. Aside from one rare year we had back in Australia where we had picnic lunch on Christmas day this is the meal I have cooked for the last 7 years. The children love me to do it the same each year. Guess it has become another one of our family traditions.

Everything used in this layout is from Artemia Charity kit available at After Five Designs. Shape is based on a background template by Maria Ferguson of Duchess Designs.

This is an interesting prompt today. It is about journaling your count down to Christmas. We have never really done the advent thing though I would like to. Perhaps next year!
