I combined it with the Day 153 sketch from 365 Cards to make this cute, clean, and simple (for me) card.

I tried playing around with a damp paint brush and some Versacolour stamp inks to give her dress dimension. In keeping with the simple theme I didn't go overboard with the colouring. Just a touch seemed right.

The new Grab Bag from Karen Lewis (available from the 1st of August at the DigiChick)was the perfect choice for the cute little hedgehog digital stamp from Phindy. This card should give you a little sneak peak of a tiny bit of all the wonderful and gorgeous goody's in there.

Perhaps that is due to being involved with everything from card making in the early 90's, into folk art painting, quilting and embroidery through to paper scrapping early this decade. Then with the emergence of digital scrap booking it seemed to disappear for a while.

Now having almost accidentally fallen into the modern term of hybrid crafting some 12 months ago with the popularity of this project and this tutorial it has become a catch phrase that is a large part of the paper crafting community and what I do.

Along with the realisation that while digital scrapbooking is a huge addiction focus for me, and a simple easy way to document my memories there came a knowledge that couldn't be denied. I need to create physically. Not just on the computer. Not just getting it printed in to a book – though these are important parts of whole.

Here are a couple of ideas that came out in a recent conversation with my friend Jennifer in which we were discussing the in's and out's of hybrid.

"but I think the paper world considers hybrid as a way to bring journaling, photo overlays and other digital elements together on a page. In contrast, if you ask a digi scrapper what hybrid is, she would most likely tell you its printing out digital supplies and gluing them for craft projects."

Which brings me to these questions. What does the term "hybrid" mean to you? Do you only think of it in terms of the one craft you specialise in? Or is it something for you that crosses and blurs the lines between all crafts?

I really liked the Mojo Monday sketch that I did last week and this Mojo Monday 149 pushed me even further. Elegant and classy was the desired effect  but am not so sure that the adorable couple from the Pollycraft Monday Challenge don't fit more into the "cute whimsy" style of card.

The SP colour combo challenge gave me a direction to head in which really helps too when making a card. Especially if you are not making it for someone in particular at that time. Grab a sketch, a theme and a colour combo and you are set to go.

I used digital scrapbooking kit Beginnings from Kelley Mickus for this elegant but cute wedding card. Sentiment stamp, ink and ribbon from CTMH. Spellbinders Nestabilities dies and a little bling.

Starting out with the 2 Sketches 4 You sketch this week I ended up with this gorgeous and simply shabby card. I made the two paper flowers at the bottom too. I didn't find a shabby challenge in all that though..lol.

Life is too short and I need to grasp the moment.

So anyway – last night two of my friends and I started up a Paper Crafters Social group. We don't have an LSS to go to for crops and such so we thought this would be a great opportunity, and help us get to know others in our community. We had one new lady come along. Being summer holidays here many people from our new community are away. It should get bigger after summer once everyone is back and settled in again.

After making a digital template of the sketch I printed off the papers I was using from Berry Meadow digital kit by Quirky Twerp. Took these with some hybrid digital scrapbooking paper craft necessities (here after called stash ) and made the hybrid card up while we chatted at the new social group last night.

So here it is – my first mojo monday sketch. This is for Mojo Monday 148

There are two other firsts for me on this card. Embossing with the Cuttlebug is one of them. Wow – this is amazing and I can't believe we waited so long to get one. The Swiss dots are just perfect.

Also it is the  first time using Nestabilities from Spell Binders. Must say the nestabilities are a lot of fun too. Can see me getting a lot of use from them. This time I only cut with them as I am waiting for the mats to come so they can be used in the Cuttlebug.

The butterfly and flower are popped up with 3D mounting tape. Touched them up with a bit of glitter and some gloss to them too. Then a turned up ruffle with a Martha Stewart Punch was added along with some pretty green checkered ribbon.

Last but not least the digital Sentiment Stamp "Thank You" is again my design. Look for it later in the week – I may just give it away.

It may not be up to the cards on the Mojo Monday blog but it is a start. Now I have broken the ice who knows what may happen? Plus it is one more thing ticked off that list!

Discovering all these fabulous sketch challenges it really a lot of fun. Could get expensive too – all the wonderful eye candy products are very attractive. I think Copics may be my next big thing.

Here is what I ended up with working from the Taylored Expressions Sketch #121

It is for someone very near and dear to me who is heavily on my heart at the moment. I wanted to make it special for her and did some extra layers to the flower. The butterfly is repeated 3 times, with a little pearl glitter glue added to pretty it up. I hope she can get a little lift from it.

A little lace and some blanket stitch around the edges of the sentiment circle for texture. The sentiment stamp is another digital one made by "moi" and there will be more on that later in the week.

Digital kit used for papers is Cerulean Lime from Danielle Engebretson. Floss is DMC, Inked edges are with Versacolour and the glitter glue is CTMH.

Again I went the hybrid scrapbooking paper crafting route with this one. The template pieces were printed on 1 sheet of premium printer paper. All layers were cut out and edges inked, then adhered to the background. Golf bag is popped up on some 3d tape for extra dimension. The ribbon is real!

This would make a cool card for a grad that is into golf as well.

We had some tough news from home to deal with today. Sad too. So I apologise but no template for today. There will be some word art up probably on Sunday so check back for that if you like.   Thanks for understanding.
