Control Center Tutorial 1

I started out making the clip and shopping list for my control center. The size was decided by the little notepads I had on hand.

The notepad was a little wider than I wanted so I trimmed it down with a metal rule and a sharp craft knife. The trick is to work slowly through the layers from the top down.

Then I measured the width and decided how deep I wanted the clip to be. This made it easy to draw up a small shape in my editor to create a mini digital layout. The same went for the clip. Extra flowers were also added to my page before printing.

After printing I cut out the clip and layer paper. Then the flowers. Inking the edges of any raised portions of your project gives added depth and hides any white edges too.

Layer the flower up with dimensional mounting tape. Then cut the next flower from the leaves and do the same again. The paper on the metal clip is attached with double sided tape. I find on metal that tape works better than glue – plus it is less messy.

Add the flowers and the clip and a pretty ribbon or two.

You could just hang it in a handy place or add it to a bigger control center.
